CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND AT PERTH RIVERSIDE
Realising the potential to illuminate the area and get the holiday season started, we developed and delivered a glittering lighting trail across the Walk and adjacent Rodney Gardens, accompanied by amazing festive special effects.
The riverside was transformed into a winter wonderland with singing trees, sleighbells ringing amid the snowflakes, elusive Christmas elves and a host of other surprises along the winding 1km walkway. Local food vendors were also on hand selling delicious festive treats.
But turning the event from an idea into a novel and exciting Christmas experience was no easy achievement: the Covid 19 pandemic meant guidelines and restrictions changed all the time and new variants of the virus emerged unexpectedly, resulting in the team constantly liaising with the authorities to ensure any risks to the public were fully mitigated.
At the end of the day, perseverance paid off and the event was a resounding success, bringing thousands of visitors from all over Scotland into the city centre and putting Perth’s Christmas offering up there with Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Our partnership with local charity PKAVS, which supports the wellbeing of people and communities throughout Perth & Kinross, and the generosity of businesses, resulted in hundreds of local families experiencing the Christmas Wonderland for free and sharing in the festive joy.
