FAWKES FESTIVAL LONDON
This ground-breaking event was London’s biggest eco and pet-friendly alternative to fireworks and drew thousands of revellers.
Staged over two nights and featuring 12 shows, the action-packed spectacular set the skies above Hammersmith & Fulham ablaze with an awe-inspiring lights and lasers extravaganza.
This was the Borough’s first Guy Fawkes event since 2018 and, as festival organisers, GC Live developed a totally new, green way to experience the dazzling event, creating an entertaining evening for all the family which captured all of the wonder yet sacrificed none of the fun and excitement audiences had previously enjoyed at traditional firework events.
Themed around ‘A Night at the Movies’, the shows featured a fabulous immersive light and laser display with sky trackers, flames and special effects all choreographed to a soundtrack of light and laser-themed film scores and classic movie music.
We worked with 21CC Group, which delivered the technical expertise, and award-winning lighting designer Durham Marenghi, who worked on the late Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee, and designed the display.
Fawkes Festival London was a hugely-successful, high-impact and sustainably-focussed event that ran across two venues, Ravenscourt Park and Bishops Park, with two displays each evening and pre-show entertainment from funfair rides to catering, MC, DJ, face painting, fire pits, marshmallows, hot chocolate and performers. The event featured in a live television interview on BBC London and on London TV.
